Statement on Citizens Insurance $10,000 Water Damage Cap from Paul Jess, Interim Executive Director, Florida Justice Association

TALLAHASSEE – “This move by Citizens Property Insurance to implement a $10,000 water damage cap is anti-consumer and anti-homeowner. This action is a bad deal that forces homeowners with damages that exceed $10,000 to pay out of pocket when they thought they had insurance to cover the loss. If Citizens is cutting the benefit they should cut the premium and abandon the rate increase Without that, this deal is a rip-off.”
