The FJA’s #MembersInTheCommunity Campaign highlights individuals and firms who are not only committed to protecting the rights of Florida’s citizens and consumers inside the courtroom, but also supporting their communities outside the courtroom.
FJA’s Minority Caucus hosted a School-to-Work event with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties (“BBBS”) during the Caucus’ First Annual Retreat. The purpose of the STW program is to expose high school students to different careers and facilitate connections for mentorship. At the event, caucus members spoke with high school students about what it is to be a personal injury attorney and career paths for those with a law degree.
The Caucus’ goal is to build and maintain partnerships with other BBBS chapters throughout Florida. Currently, the Caucus is planning to participate in another School-To-Work program with the Miami chapter.
“Thank you so much! Your whole group was simply amazing with the kids, and we could not have hoped for a better School-to-Work experience,” Angela Wiltz, Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinate, BBBS of Palm Beach/Martin Counties.
