2022 Mock Trial Competition
The FJA Research & Education Foundation’s annual Mock Trial Competition will be taking place in November 12-13, 2022. Law school students will be competing in the competition, and attorneys are needed to volunteer to score the competition rounds at the Richard E Gerstein Justice Building in Miami. Volunteering at this event is an excellent opportunity to coach law students on their trial skills while also educating future lawyers about the FJA.
The Mock Trial Competition is also a great way to earn free CLE credits. All who participate are eligible to earn up to 9 General CLE and Civil Trial Certification credits. No training, previous experience, or preparation is needed to volunteer. Volunteers serve as jurors during the competition. On Saturday, we will need 50 volunteers from 9AM – 1PM, and 50 volunteers from 1PM – 5PM! On Sunday, we will need ten volunteers from 9AM – 1PM, and five volunteers from 1PM – 5PM.
Experience is the best teacher. Front-line experience can be one of the best predictors of future success in the legal profession. Each year, the FJA Research and Education Foundation sponsors The Honorable E. Earle Zehmer Memorial Mock Trial Competition, bringing together students from Florida’s leading law schools. Hosted by the FJA Young Lawyers’ Section, this competition features carefully-selected teams of the brightest law students from across the state for an innovative, hands-on opportunity to demonstrate their trial skills.

The FJA’s Young Lawyer Section, in conjunction with the Foundation, invite you to sponsor our Annual Mock Trial Competition. This event pits some of the brightest law students in the state against each other for the chance to gain experience, meet practicing attorneys and prizes. Your tax-deductible donation will help strengthen the next generation of trial attorneys. To sponsor, click here to contact Melissa Robbins.
